Cow Mattresses
The price of our cow mattresses pays off really quickly. Our mattresses offer not only economic benefits but also ethical ones – they guarantee maximum comfort and significantly improve animal welfare.
Due to the increased lying comfort, cows lie down longer, which promotes their natural behavior. On the pasture, a cow lies down about 15 hours per day – in conventional lying boxes, it’s much less. Our mattresses bring this natural behavior back, resulting in cows chewing cud more intensely and relieving pressure on their legs and hooves. This, in turn, leads to higher milk production.
Some advantages of our mattresses:
- Gives the cow a feeling of security by providing better support when lying down and getting up
- Less bedding required
- Stable foundation
- Extremely durable and suitable for years of intensive use
- Various surface materials available – perfectly adaptable to your needs
- Shock-absorbing – good for the cows’ joints
- Fewer pressure points on the body – the mattress conforms to the contours of the cow
- Cost-effective
- Hygienic
Cow Mattresses vs. Deep Bedding Boxes
1. Hygiene
Hygiene plays a central role when choosing between deep bedding boxes and cow mattresses. Both systems need to be cleaned daily. Our mattresses can be easily sprayed down with water or cleaned with a scraper. In deep bedding boxes, however, the top layer must be replaced regularly, and even the bottom layer gets contaminated over time. This contamination rises through the straw or sand, which does not happen with our mattresses. The surface of our mattresses is breathable but waterproof – a significant hygienic advantage.

2. Comfort
In terms of comfort, deep bedding boxes and our cow mattresses start out equally. However, our mattresses guarantee consistent comfort over time. In deep bedding boxes, depressions form during the day, which reduces lying comfort – even if they are smoothed out daily.

3. Costs
The cost comparison is based on the average price of our mattresses compared to a deep bedding box. For example, a deep bedding box costs about €1,000, while a cow mattress, including the necessary minimal bedding, costs about €600. This is because our mattresses require little bedding for comfort – it only serves to absorb moisture, as the mattress itself already provides the comfort.
