Installation of the lying mats

1. General Preparation

The floor surface must be made of concrete. It should also be smooth and clean before installation. It is recommended that the floor has a slope of 3% towards the manure drainage area.

Requirements during installation:

  • When installing in low temperatures, the rubber mats should be stored for 2–3 days at a temperature of approximately 15°C.
  • Optimal installation temperature is between 5°C and 30°C.

Required tools:

As shown here, you will need a measuring tape (5m) and a hammer to insert the anchors. For drilling the holes, use a drill with a 12 mm concrete bit.

2. Installation of the Mats Without Spacers

The mats should be placed at least 3 cm from the rear side of the cubicle, as shown in Fig. 2.
Adjacent mats should be 1–2 cm apart, as shown in Fig. 3.

Make sure that no objects are underneath the mats. Clean the concrete surface before installation and also while drilling the holes.

2: Installation of the Mats With Spacers

The mats should be placed at least 3 cm from the rear side of the cubicle, as shown in Fig. 2.
Adjacent mats should be 4–10 cm apart, as shown in Fig. 6.

Again, ensure that no objects are under the mats. Clean the concrete both before installation and during drilling.

⚠️ Do not overlap the spacers!

Fixing the spacers: Place the spacer between the mats, drill the holes, insert the anchor into the concrete, and drive the impact screw into the hole.

3. Securing the Mats to the Floor

To prevent the mats from being moved by the animals, each mat must be fixed to the concrete floor. The mats should be secured using spring anchors, which are supplied with the mats.

  1. Each mat has designated holes for anchoring.
  2. Place the mat in its position and drill holes at the marked spots.
  3. Move the mat aside and insert the spring anchors into the holes as shown in Fig. 4.
  4. Clear away all drill dust, place the mat back in position, and tighten the screws until you feel light resistance (see Fig. 5).
Repeat this process for all mats.
